House cleaning in Dupont Circle
Dupont Circle cleaning, no estimate call required.
Prewar apartment buildings and converted rowhouses, mostly one-beds and two-beds, most with a front desk. Flat rate, real availability.
Dupont is largely prewar: solid brick apartment buildings from the twenties and thirties, many of them co-ops, plus rowhouses carved into two or three flats. The apartments are smaller than their room count suggests, with narrow galley kitchens, deep windowsills, and radiators under casement windows that crank open rather than slide. None of that changes the checklist, but it does mean the kitchen and bathroom carry most of the visit.
It is also the neighbourhood with the highest share of one-person households we clean, and for a flat that one person keeps reasonably tidy, every two weeks is usually the right rhythm rather than weekly.

Supplies, insurance and tax included. Your first visit takes longer, so it is normally billed at the one time rate of $230. We cap it at your regular price of $185, so the first clean never costs more than the ones after it. Both prices move with the size of your home and any extras you add.

When to book it
Co-op rules, small kitchens and old windows
Co-op buildings tend to have more rules than rentals: service entrances, lift bookings, insurance certificates and hours when work is allowed. It is worth checking yours before the first visit rather than on the morning. Tell us what your building requires in the notes and we will work to it, including sending a certificate of insurance to management if they need one on file.
The kitchens here are small and often original in layout, which means the counter is the scarcest surface in the flat. Clearing it, cleaning it and putting things back where they were is most of what makes a Dupont flat feel cleaned. Casement windows collect grime in the crank mechanism and the deep sill below, and both are on the list.

The checklist
What a standard clean covers
Every visit, every room, the same list. In a smaller flat the kitchen and bathroom get proportionally more of the visit.
Kitchen
Counters, backsplash and sink scrubbed. Outside of every appliance. Cabinet fronts wiped. Floor washed by hand at the edges.
Bathrooms
Tub, shower, tile and grout line scrubbed. Toilet inside and out. Mirrors and fixtures polished streak free.
Bedrooms
Beds made with hotel corners. Surfaces dusted top to bottom. Under accessible furniture vacuumed.
Living areas
Dusted high to low, including sills, baseboards, blinds and switch plates. Upholstery vacuumed.
Floors throughout
Vacuumed and mopped, with corners and edges done by hand instead of a machine pass.
Finish
Trash out, fresh liners, and a photo of every room sent to you before your cleaner leaves.
Recurring visits start at $120 for a one bed, one bath every two weeks. See the full price table on the home page.
Questions about this clean
Straight answers.
My building is a co-op with a service entrance. Does that matter?
Only that we need to know. Put the entrance, lift and any hours restriction in the notes and the cleaner works to it. If management wants a certificate of insurance on file, ask and we will send one.
Do you clean inside the window cranks and sills?
Yes, sills and the visible mechanism are on the standard list. Prewar casement windows collect more in both than modern ones do.
Weekly or every two weeks for a one-bedroom?
Every two weeks suits most one-person flats here. Weekly is the better value per visit if you cook a lot or have a pet, and you can switch either way with no fee.
