House cleaning in Petworth

Petworth house cleaning with the price up front.

Porch-front rowhouses off the circles, most of them three bedrooms, many with a rental unit downstairs. Flat rate, booked online.

Petworth is the most consistent housing stock we clean: block after block of porch-front rowhouses built within a few years of each other, nearly all of them two or three bedrooms over a basement. That consistency is why flat pricing works so well here. A three-bedroom on Quincy is the same amount of work as a three-bedroom on Webster, so there is nothing to send someone out to estimate.

A lot of these houses have been renovated in the last decade, which usually means a new kitchen upstairs and a separate rental flat below with its own entrance. If you own both and want both done, book them as two homes rather than one large one. It prices correctly and the cleaner plans the day properly.

When to book it

Front porches, radiators and original floors

The porch is the part people forget to ask about and then notice. It is outside the standard checklist, but it is a common add-on request here, so put it in the notes and we will sweep it down and wipe the rail while we are there. Inside, most of these houses still have their original wood floors and cast-iron radiators. Both get done by hand: radiators collect dust in the fins that a vacuum pass does not reach, and old boards want a damp mop rather than a wet one.

Parking is the one thing that is easier here than further south. Many houses have an alley pad or a driveway, and the side streets off Grant and Sherman Circle are usually manageable. It makes early morning slots more reliable in Petworth than in most of the neighbourhoods we serve.

The checklist

What a standard clean covers

Every visit, every room, the same list. Radiators, sills and stair spindles are part of it, not extras.

  • Kitchen

Counters, backsplash and sink scrubbed. Outside of every appliance. Cabinet fronts wiped. Floor washed by hand at the edges.

  • Bathrooms

Tub, shower, tile and grout line scrubbed. Toilet inside and out. Mirrors and fixtures polished streak free.

  • Bedrooms

Beds made with hotel corners. Surfaces dusted top to bottom. Under accessible furniture vacuumed.

  • Living areas

Dusted high to low, including sills, baseboards, blinds and switch plates. Upholstery vacuumed.

  • Floors throughout

Vacuumed and mopped, with corners and edges done by hand instead of a machine pass.

  • Finish

Trash out, fresh liners, and a photo of every room sent to you before your cleaner leaves.

Recurring visits start at $120 for a one bed, one bath every two weeks. See the full price table on the home page.

Questions about this clean

Straight answers.

I rent out the basement. Can you clean both units?

Yes. Book them as two separate homes so each is priced by its own bedrooms and bathrooms. Say in the notes that they are in the same house and we will schedule them back to back.

Do you clean the front porch?

Not on the standard list, but ask in the notes and we will sweep it and wipe the rail. It takes a few minutes and it is the first thing your visitors see.

Are the original wood floors safe with your products?

Yes. Old boards get a damp mop, never a wet one, and no steam. If yours have been refinished recently, say so and the cleaner will go gentler still.
