When to book it
Timing it right
Book for the day after the movers, once the apartment is empty. An empty home cleans faster and better than one with boxes in it, and the photos we send show every surface. If you are moving in, book the day before your furniture arrives for the same reason. End-of-month dates go first across DC, Arlington and Alexandria, so pick your slot as soon as you have a move date.

Emptied kitchens and bathrooms get every shelf, drawer and cabinet interior wiped, which is the first place an inspector looks.
Closets and shelving
Shelves, rails and closet floors vacuumed and wiped, including the top shelf.
Baseboards, door frames and switch plates
Done throughout, on every floor. Scuffs that come off with a cleaner are removed; paint damage is noted in your photos so you know before the inspection.
Bathrooms to inspection standard
Grout scrubbed, fixtures descaled, the toilet base and behind it, shower door tracks and the exhaust fan cover.
Inside the oven and fridge, included
